Tourist Banned from Estonia Over a Common Samovar
An Israeli tourist has been deported from Estonia for carrying sanctioned goods.

According to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, the man arrived at the checkpoint intending to enter Estonia and proceeded through the "green corridor." However, he was pulled aside for a secondary baggage inspection. During the search, customs officers discovered a samovar, which falls under the list of sanctioned goods restricted for import and export. The item was confiscated, and the Israeli national was issued a formal warning and denied entry into the country.

Estonian customs regulations include an extensive list of items prohibited for transport across the border, in compliance with international sanctions against Russia. Authorities emphasize that all travelers are subject to rigorous baggage checks. Enhanced enforcement has been in effect at the Narva-1 crossing since the transition to full customs control, which requires the mandatory screening of all individuals and their personal belongings. This measure is designed to prevent the movement of sanctioned and illicit goods in both directions.
