Estonia Convenes Emergency Security Meeting Following Auvere Power Plant Incident
Kristen Michal and Hanno Pevkur lead urgent deliberations.

A drone incident overnight—involving a craft crossing the border and colliding with a facility near the Auvere Power Plant—prompted an emergency government session on the morning of March 25.

The situation was immediately elevated to a high-priority security matter. Military officials, intelligence services, and energy sector leadership were summoned to the State Chancellery. According to official reports, the drone entered Estonian airspace from the direction of Russia at 3:43 AM and struck a chimney at the Auvere Power Plant.

No casualties have been reported. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
Key Attendees at the Emergency Session:
 * Kristen Michal, Prime Minister
 * Hanno Pevkur, Minister of Defence
 * Andrus Merilo, Commander of the Defence Forces
 * Margo Palloson, Director General of the Internal Security Service (Kapo)
 * Astrid Asi, Prosecutor General
 * Executives from the national energy group
According to the Prosecutor General, there are currently no indications that the drone was intentionally targeted at Estonia.

In recent years, any development involving borders, defense, or energy infrastructure is automatically classified as high-risk. In Tallinn, such events are viewed strictly through the lens of comprehensive national security.

Standard Response Protocols for Such Incidents Typically Include:
 * Strengthening border controls
 * Implementing airspace restrictions
 * Enhancing physical security measures
 * Allocating additional defense spending
