Leningrad Region Locals Alerted to Possible Drone Activity Near St. Petersburg
On the morning of August 3, several districts in Saint Petersburg were alerted to a potential drone threat.

Today at 7:45 AM, a threat of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) appearing in the airspace was announced for the western, southern, and eastern districts of the Leningrad region, the regional governor reported.

The threat concerns potential activity of Ukrainian drones, which have been repeatedly detected in the northwest direction. According to official data, air defense systems have already destroyed over 50 drones launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the skies of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

Against this backdrop, users in the Estonian city of Narva reported brief disruptions in mobile internet service this morning. This information has been shared by readers of the Telegram channel Narva News. Local operators and authorities have not yet commented on the situation.

Earlier, the country’s largest telecommunications operators — Tele2, Elisa, and Telia — confirmed in response to media inquiries that they are aware of possible impacts on connection quality caused by events in neighboring Russian regions. Company representatives stated that they have “action plans” but added they “will not disclose them for security reasons.”

Previously, Estonian media, citing the Ministry of Defense, reported the deployment of Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems in the Kingisepp area designed to jam drone signals. Such installations may affect civilian electronics and connection quality in border zones.

The situation in the region remains tense. The airspace is being monitored by air defense systems. Authorities urge residents to stay calm and follow official information updates.
