Metal Gates Installed on the Estonian Side of the Narva Bridge
Preparations are underway for the installation of retractable barriers that will be capable of completely blocking vehicle traffic.

Massive metal gates have been installed on the Estonian side of the Narva River bridge, which connects Estonia and Russia. The gates currently block the vehicle lane on the Estonian end of the bridge.

According to Antti Eensalu, head of the Narva border checkpoint, additional engineering infrastructure is being put in place at the site. In particular, preparations are underway for the installation of retractable barriers capable of fully stopping vehicle traffic. These barriers are planned for all entry points.

Separate gates are also planned for the pedestrian section of the bridge.

Despite the ongoing construction, the bridge remains an operational border crossing. All works are being carried out within Estonian territory.
